About the Pastor

Evangelist Michael Norris is a proud native of Ohio.  He received his primary education in the Zanesville City School system in Zanesville, Ohio.  After graduating high school, in 1984, he entered and served in the United States Marine Corps as a Journeyman Electrical Equipment Repairman starting in 1985.  He later received an Associates of Applied Business Management Degree from American Intercontinental University.

Elder Norris met his lovely wife, Tess, while stationed in Hawaii.  They were married in 1987 and from that union were blessed with three sons Edgar, Nathaniel, and Michael.

Upon receiving an honorable discharge from the US Marine Corp, Evangelist Norris returned home to Zanesville with his family and started his career in law enforcement.  As a member of Second Tabernacle Beth El, Zanesville, Ohio, he served in the congregation as a singer, a local trustee, and a Deacon. After hearing a letter read from Rabbi Levi S. Plummer, GFA stating that he was in dire need of ministers, the then Brother Michael Norris could not resist the plea and so entered the Ministerial Training Program.  He was ordained a Deacon by Rabbi Levi S. Plummer, Grand Father Abraham at the 2001 Passover Memorial.

At the February, 17 2002 Board of Presbytery meeting he answered the calling and was ordained an Elder by Rabbi Jehu A. Crowdy Jr, Grand Father Abraham.  He was immediately assigned the pastorate of Seventh Tabernacle Beth El Cincinnati, Ohio and told by the leader, “I want you to go home and preach hard every Sabbath”.  While pastoring Cincinnati, Elder Norris set and reached several goals including paying off the edifice early and beautifying the tabernacle for the Saints.

At the 2013 Passover Elder Norris was reassigned to assist Elder H. Obadiah Stewart with the spiritual work at First Tabernacle Beth El in Cleveland, Ohio, and he travelled faithfully assisting and supporting the work in Cleveland.

During the 2016 Passover Elder Norris was appointed the Local Pastor of First Tabernacle Beth El in Cleveland, Ohio by Chief Rabbi Phillip E. McNeil and admonished to go home and go to work.

Two years later at the Passover of 2018, Elder Norris was raised to the position of Evangelist by Chief Rabbi Phillip E. McNeil.  At that time, Chief Rabbi McNeil identified Evangelist Norris as a man who loves the Lord and one who is ready to set the west on fire with that Love.

Evangelist Norris has been able to extend his desire to serve people in his professional career.  He has served in Law Enforcement Administration, Probation, and as a Certified Sexual Offender Treatment Specialist.  In doing so, Evangelist Norris has helped countless individuals overcome drug addiction, sexual addiction, gain employment, and put their broken marriages and lives back together.

Evangelist Norris is an ardent believer and follower, and has pledged his life to the mission and work of Prophet William Saunders Crowdy.
